1. A Note From the Coach
1. A Note From the Coach Have you ever had someone listen to your presentation, only to have that person pitch you in return? Frustrating, huh? I mean, in truth the guy was simply listening to you so he could pitch you. Ugh. What a waste. But is it? How to handle precisely this type of situation is the topic of this month's feature article. Enjoy! Your Coach, Kimberly Anne 2. Feature Article: “My Deal's Better Than Yours" Mark D. Worthen, Psy.D., submitted this question to me: “Hilton, what do you say when someone calls you pretending to be interested in your business, but what they really want to do is sell you on their own business opportunity?” Frankly, I love when this happens to me. I call these people “pretenders.” The reason I’m glad when pretenders call and try to sell me on their business is because I’m almost guaranteed to give them MY presentation. And I know going in that my presentation is probably better than theirs! I'll gladly pit my deal and my ability to explain it against any other deal out there because I know that the best presentation will most often win the other one over. How about you? Are you confident enough in your company and your ability to explain your deal that you’ll go "heads up" with anybody? If not, you might want to think about that because the difference between success and failure in Network Marketing is in your willingness to make contact with lots of people and your ability to give powerful, compelling presentations. Pure and simple. Assuming though, that you do have a good business presentation, here’s what you say the next time someone calls you pretending to be interested in your business, only to spring their business on you: You: “I’m glad you mentioned that you have a business opportunity you want me to see because I’m always open to other opportunities. Don’t you feel the same way? Don’t you feel that you and I should always be open to a better deal if we can find it?” Pretender: “Oh…yeah, sure.” You: “Tell you what…I’ll take a look at your business and keep an open mind about being a part of it. How does that sound?” Pretender: “Great!” You: “All I ask is that you do the same. Give me the same courtesy I’ll give you by allowing me to explain my business to you, in its entirety. Keep an open mind, just like I will with you, and if my business is a better opportunity than yours, you join MY company. Okay?" Pretender: “Yes.” Yee haw! Ain’t that cool? Now, a word of caution… If you don't have an organized business presentation that you know will knock the socks off your competitors, you can solve that problem now, once and for all, by owning the “Selling By Attraction Home Study Program.” Check it out. Remember this always… He who has the best presentation wins!
